Alopecia Areata

Patchy loss of hair is seen on areas of the scalp but can also occur on Eyebrows/ Eyelashes/ Beard region or body sometimes. It is a auto-immune condition, caused by some chemical imbalance of immune system though exact cause is not known. In 2-5% cases if not treated properly it can progress to alopecia totalis (complete scalp hair loss) or very rarely alopecia universalis (loss of all hairs on body).

We at our clinic, provide individualized evidence based and scientific treatment as per guidelines by international society of trichology.

Treatment commonly involves local applications of medicines or injection in the patches of hair loss and in more bad cases may need oral medicines. Treatment may take long time but hair loss can be completely reversed.
