Are there any side effects?

- After lip enhancement, the main side effect is swelling of the lips. This may persist from 3 to 14 days. Usually an injection in the lip body produces more swelling than the border. The type of dermal filler used also determines the extent of swelling.
- At times, a bruise may also result from the injections.
- Occasionally, lip enhancement may cause a viral infection to appear. If this occurs, you need to notify your doctor who will prescribe an anti-viral tablet.
Post-Care For Lip Enhancement
- The swelling that occurs immediately after can be reduced with ice packs.
- A lip balm can be used to prevent dry lips, and no makeup is to be used for 12 hours.
- Strenuous exercises and excessive UV exposure should be avoided for at least 48 hours post treatment.
- If there are any lumps felt, you can massage them twice a day until they subside.
